Spatial Data Infrastucture
With the establishment of the Infrastructure for Spatial Information (INSPIRE) initiative to coordinate activities and improve utilisation of geographic information in Europe, European government agencies (local and national) are now legally obliged to manage their spatial data in a relevant and standardised format that enables easy discovery and access.
The INSPIRE initiative provides a legal standard, which took effect in 2007, and regulates the structure of the European spatial data infrastructure (ESDI) with existing data from European Union members.
Using solutions developed by Intergraph specifically to support INSPIRE, IMGS can build your Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) to enable geospatial data exchange within your enterprise and among other government agencies and help your agency comply with INSPIRE.
Intergraph’s GeoMedia product portfolio gives users a customisable turnkey solution and builds a perfect foundation for an SDI technology extension. It consists of three primary products that help users develop a collaborative distribution solution for geospatial data:
GeoMedia WebMap offers OGC compliant web services for publishing data (writer services) typically based on the server, as well as OGC consuming services (reader services), which are located either on the desktop or on a server as the recipient (client).
The GeoMedia SDi Pro extension package offers a set of highly valuable services that extend beyond the GeoMedia WebMap services for event logging, performance & measurements and content logging.
Intergraph’s GeoMedia SDI Portal services will provide the building blocks for empowering existing browser applications with SDI technology.
By choosing IMGS to implement your SDI you will:
- Rapidly meet your INSPIRE commitments without any impact on your day to day activities.
- Be selecting a proven European INSPIRE compliant solution.
